Blood of Dawnwalker Quest Order: Best Way to Spend Your Time

Not a full walkthrough dump—a Time Segment spending order for the prologue day before Blood Mass. Costs are launch-week Reported (IGN, PC Gamer, Polygon). Interactive planner units stay a fan model.

Primary focus: Dawnwalker quest order / prologue time spend.

What this guide covers

Prologue before Blood Mass

Budget: Day · ~8 segments Reported. Roughly 13 named prologue quests compete for about 8 day segments. Do zero-cost XP first, resolve Deep Down early if Lazar matters, and finish Withering Away before Mass. Do not start a multi-step hourglass quest with only 1 segment left.

6Live Bait14/8Skip playing tag (+1). Base ~1 segment.Add to Planner
7Someone Needs A Lesson15/8~1 segment · cost at end — good final 1-slot (Gamer Guides).Add to Planner
8Blasphemy16/8~1 segment. Tell Gremla about Premysl or she dies at Mass; optional double-dip rewards (Gamer Guides).Add to Planner
9Disturbed17/8Base ~1. Helping bury is an extra +1 — skip if low on segments.Add to Planner
10Like Father, Like Son18/8Optional after Withering Away · Charge Manual ROI (Gamer Guides). Or skip remaining day to Mass.Add to Planner

At 8/8 you are at Mass. Prefer expiring NPC sides over Into The Den / bandit camp (Gamer Guides: those remain after prologue). On The Run (2) is poor ROI. Treasure map persist conflicts — do not assume safe to defer. Never open a multi-step chain on your last segment.

Hard rules for this day

  • Time advances on hourglass-marked actions; free roam usually does not.
  • With only 1 segment left, do not start a multi-step quest that still spends mid-chain (Polygon).
  • Unfinished prologue sides fail or lock when Mass begins (GameSpot / PowerPyx).
  • Load the matching preset in the planner — catalog defaults now prioritize Reported prologue rows over Legacy estimates.

After Mass — Bad Blood & Smoke and Ashes (Reported)

The Mass-day table above stops at Sacred Covenant. Two scripted spends still eat the clock before the open world:

  • Bad Blood — Return to Laslea is 2 segments by default. Optional Find Vladimir (+1) drops that return to 1 via shortcut — net time-neutral plus 250 XP (PowerPyx). Prefer saving him before walking in with the soldiers.
  • Smoke and Ashes — Return to Anca is 1 segment; clearing the Laslea gate rubble is 7 segments and forces nightfall (PowerPyx). Budget it as the prologue closer — not a free explore tick. Rows live on time costs and Quests; model them in the Planner.

After the prologue (pointer)

Campaign Court routing is not a second prologue table yet. For the Reported Ambrus → Bakir → Xanthe order, 1-seg Cellars vs ~3-seg typical Court spends, Ambrus Gilded Gauntlet (~3) / ~58-seg Ambrus ceiling / need ~10 of 14, Bakir Lunar Game (6) / Mother's Plea (~4) / ~42-seg Bakir ceiling, Xanthe Cycle of Love (4) / ~43-seg Xanthe ceiling, Howling Keep one-visit loot, Deal with the Devil (4), and “finish one officer before splitting tracks,” see 30-day deadline. Side costs like Don't Kill the Messenger (2 day segments) live on Quests and time costs.
